I was so socially anxious, that it was crippling me in every aspect of my life. I struggled at work, and in every relationship in my life, I learned about my thinking styles in therapy and how could cognitive behavioural therapy could help me. Truly the best time I have ever spent on myself.  I spent 50 years believing I was worthless and useless, and I felt depressed, and alone. I was looking for a change and was recommended to try cognitive behavioural therapy by a friend of mine. Working with my therapist, Nicola, at the Talking Rooms, I was able to learn about myself, my thoughts and how I treated myself and how I thought A LOT about others, and what people thought of me. The work we did was challenging, but I always felt the work was carried out at an appropriate pace, and the discovery and insight that is generated in such a short space of time, was incredible.
Ultimately when we finished our work together I felt like a much better version of who I used to be.  I couldn’t recommend this highly enough!

I was referred to The Talking Rooms by a friend and I had the pleasure of working with the Nicola the CBT Therapist. She made me feel very at ease and relaxed and her approachable nature made the sessions overall enjoyable. I went in with a lot of anxiety and stress and was very unsure of what to expect. 3 months later I feel like a new person and have a very positive outlook on life now, back to my old but new improved self. I would highly recommend The Talking Rooms as it has been a life changer for me personally. The professionalism and support overall is why it deserves the recognition of 5 stars.

Nicola is a very patient, understanding therapist. I have definitely felt a weight lifted due to my work with her more than with previous therapists. She enabled me to relax for the first time in a long while. Starting the sessions, I was anxious about how it would be and how well it would work. However, Nicola put these thoughts at ease by being patient, understanding and making me feel as comfortable as possible. Nicola was able to do the sessions over a Skype call, so this made it a lot easier for me as I was able to do it from my house - and not have to stress about travel etc.

What is CBT? (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy)

CBT is a proven talking therapy. The model works with your thoughts, feelings and behaviours, to identify and improve thinking styles, how you feel and what you do, and ultimately improving mindset and mood. What we identify, is that in any given situation, are your patterns of what we call ‘unhelpful’ thoughts, feelings or behaviours, and work with you, in partnership to make significant changes.

Whether you’re facing a specific challenge or simply seeking to improve your mental wellbeing, our tailored counselling services are designed to meet your unique needs. We offer both in-person and online sessions, ensuring that you can access the support you need, whenever and wherever you need it.

Crisis Service

Please note we operate Monday to Friday 9am-5pm and we are not classified as a crisis service. If you feel that your life or someone else’s life is in crisis, then please contact one of these leading crisis organisations.
